Winning entries appear, along with winners of NMW Awards 16, in our 2004 issue, which contestants should receive in June or July. This will be one of our largest issues yet, with fiction, poetry, nonfiction, humor and writing advice from many voices, including Charles Wright and Sybil Kollar.

CB Anderson of Lexington, MA won the $1,000 Fiction Award for her haunting story, China Falls.

Jacqueline Berger of San Francisco, CA, won the $1,000 Poetry Award for The Warmest Day of the Year, about the divergent paths which lead to peace or war.

Judy Copeland of Iowa City, IA, won the $1,000 nonfiction prize for The Girl Who Wouldn't Believe in Love, a melancholy tale about a punishing twist of fate.
