Noëlle Wall, of Loudonville, NY, won the $1,000 Fiction Award for her story, "Secrets," an eerie tale of voyeurism.
Justin Vicari, of Pittsburgh, won the $1,000 Poetry Award for his haunting poem, "The Competition."
Joshua Leavitt, of Bozeman, won the $1,000 Nonfiction Award for "New Kid's Revenge," the touching and hilarious story of children who own up to the status-driven persecution of other kids.
More than 1,200 entries were sent. Winners and honorable mentions will receive letters and certificates in coming weeks. Semifinalists also will be notified. NMW Awards are presented twice annually for works of poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Final judges are David Hunter, Marilyn Kallet, Jon Manchip White, Allen Wier and moi, Don Williams, Editor.
